About Marpak

Marpak was established by Mr Roy Atwood during the 1970s; the company grew through an emerging strategy and Roy soon developed a strong hold within the local area, successfully gaining major customers whose packaging requirements predominately centred around the hosiery trade for which the Midlands was famous.

The company continued to prosper at the Eastern Boulevard site, and went on to establish, and maintain a long and successful relationship with Pretty Polly (the hosiery (tights) manufacturer).

Following the death of Roy Atwood, the company was purchased by Edward and Matthew Wheeler in 1998.  At that time a strategic decision to fill excess capacity with trade work and to become a specialist window patching facility focusing on tissue boxes, was taken.

As the business evolved a new larger site was sought, and in 2001 Marpak moved to their current location in Harding Street.  Edward and Matthew then adapted their business strategy to focus on carton finishing; the company’s main business activity. They bolstered the management team with an experienced finishing specialist from Bobst, and set a plan to development the core capabilities required.
